The Millionaire and His Wife....
Okay, back to the island. You've got plenty of time to daydream on the island. You've still got that lottery ticket in your pocket, that you bought just before you left on this fateful trip. One never knows! You just might be a multi-millionaire. Well, you're certainly getting your dollar's worth out of that ticket, as you plan what to do with your hopefully newfound wealth, once you get rescued of course....
So, what ARE you going to do? Personally, the first thing I'd buy is a satellite telephone..... What are your million dollar dreams?

Oddly enough I was just pondering that today. After paying off all debts, buying my folks a house, and making sure my kid's future is secure, I'd open my own theatre, probably somewhere in between Port St. Lucie and Cocoa, and build a home/compound with rooms for all my closest friends where they were welcome to come and go as they pleased. The theatre would also have an educational aspect similar to the old Burt Reynolds Theatre Institute, but tech would not be a second or third thought. I'd also immediately buy every episode of every Star Trek show available. ;-)
Yeah, I've always been fond of the 'pay off all the bill, pay the taxes, and then play with what's left' tactic of lottery winnings.
Of course, since I'm on an island that's strangely deserted yet equipped enough to let me know I won the lottery, I'm thinking I would charter a cruiseship to come get me OFF the island with a nice, leisurely pace back to reality (a buffer if you will) complete with plenty of time in the spa. Skip the pools but hang out in the on-board theatre and lets not forget the gluttonous dining.
Can I pretend that it's not just a measly 1 million???? I mean, after you give 45% to Uncle Sam in taxes, you end up with $550,000. If I pay off my debt, which of course I would do first, I would have about $465,000. If I want to retire to a lifestyle equivalent to that which my retired parents have now (and since they have close to a million of their own, their house is paid for, and they can do pretty much as they like...), most of that would be invested. I would take some to play with though... I would send my folks on a trip to Europe since that the one thing my Mom really wants and, although they could, they haven't done yet. Then I would do stuff for myself and my friends.
But if it was like 10 Million... then after all of the above, I would buy up large tracks of uncultivated, "natural" land in parts of the US, South America, Asia, Europe and Africa and set up wildlife refuges. I would be mighty tempted to go live in Africa, at least part of the year, and defend my wildlife/refuge against the idiot poachers. With deadly force, if necessary. I would be willing to do that anywhere, actually, but I have always wanted to "have a house in Africa", even before that movie came out. =)
Like all the rest, pay off the debts. Then, buy a nice place to live (not too fancy, but nice).
Invest in my daughter's education would be next.
Take the rest, split it in half. Put half into making more money for the future. And the other half, building enough memories for myself, my family and friend to last for entire lifetimes.
